Exchange Programme

Some Echange Students at trainingAfrican Footprint International has established different kinds of exchange programs. Whether you only want to stay in Ghana as a tourist and receive lessons in traditional African drum and dance or you want to work as a volunteer and have dance and drum lessons. We welcome you anytime!

If you want to work in Ghana relating to your education, we already have experience in creating such an exchange program. For instance we have successfully and constantly hosting several Danish pedagogue students from different National Institute for Social Educators in Denmark for every half a year.

If you are studying carpentry, computers or other interesting educations and want to share your knowledge or to get practical experiences then we are also very interested in starting an exchange program with you!

We already have cooperation with Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke/Global Contact, who sends Danish volunteers to A.F.I. in a period of three months.
The volunteer work is containing coordination of our tours, performances and workshops. The work can also consist of teaching or assisting members of A.F.I. in basic computer skills, communicating skills, starting up a course in the areas we operate in, working for Footprint Child Development Centre, administrative works etc.

CONTINUOUS PROGRAMMING
Rehearsals take place daily at our training grounds (Addison Square Garden, GHW 5, Greenhill West, Cape Coast) from Monday to Friday.  Saturdays and Sundays are optional, depending on other programs.

An exchange program exists for students and non-students of all nationalities to learn African traditional music, dance, drumming, and history.  This program is designed for both the deaf and hearing people.  The program includes one month, three month, and six month options. A token fee is charged to support the organisation to enable continuous operations.

Courses in computing, environmental awareness, communicative skills, leadership training and sign language are available for both hearing and deaf members of the organisation as well as non members.  The general public pays a token fee to join the course as a way of supporting the organisation.
